Deployment models describe where your cloud runs and who it's shared with.

Shared, on-demand.
Resources are owned and operated by a provider (Azure, AWS, GCP) and shared across many tenants over the internet. Pay-as-you-go, near-infinite scale, no capital hardware cost.
Check your understanding
1. What best describes a hybrid cloud?
2. A key reason to choose private cloud is…
The models
- Public — shared provider infrastructure (Azure/AWS/GCP): elastic, pay-as-you-go, no capital hardware.
- Private — dedicated to one organisation for control, isolation or compliance; you carry more cost.
- Hybrid — public and private/on-prem working together; the real-world norm.
- Multi-cloud — more than one public provider to avoid lock-in or meet specific needs.
Choosing
Balance cost, control, compliance and scale. Regulated data may need private or specific regions; bursty workloads suit public; most enterprises land on hybrid. This connects to cloud networking and hybrid identity in cloud IAM.
